There are few three-word phrases that bring the excitement,
anxiety, and intensity of the phrase, “prepare for takeoff”.
Those three words come just before a sudden rush of speed as your body is pressed into your chair,
you feel the nose of the airplane begin to rise into the air, and that strange but incredible feeling when
the wheels leave the ground and you are airborne.
As we walk through a Stewardship Campaign called “Defying Gravity”,
in which we are trying to overcome the pull of money and earthly possessions,
I thought that the analogy of a plane taking flight could be a helpful one.
So, each week, we are going to look at one of the four components of flight
and how it connects to our life of faithfulness and generosity.
