Sermon Title: The Way to Make an Entrance Main Scripture: John 2:13-25 Theme: In the other three Gospels, the clearing of the Temple by Jesus happens near the end of his ministry. In John, it shows up at the beginning. Discovering why that is the case and what lessons can be learned from it will be our focus this morning as we begin digging in to this life-changing Gospel. January 24th: Sermon Title: The Healing and the Holiness Main Scripture: John 5:1-15 Theme: What does it mean to be healed? How do healing and holiness go together? We’ll be answering these questions and more in worship this morning as we continue our way through John’s Gospel. January 31st: Sermon Title: The Bread of Life Main Scripture: John 6:22-35 Theme: There are seven “I Am” statements made by Jesus in John’s Gospel. Today we look at the first of these, “I am the Bread of Life.” It has great implications for us as disciples, which we’ll discover this morning as we worship. Feb. 7th: Sermon Title: the Light and the Darkness Main Scripture: John 8:12, 9:1-7 Theme: Last week we looked at the first of the “I Am” statements made by Jesus; today we look at another one, “I am the Light of the World.” In a world full of darkness, what does it mean for Jesus to make this declaration, and what does it mean for us? Let’s find out as we worship this morning. Feb. 14th: Sermon Title: The Gate and the Shepherd Main Scripture: John 10:1-16 Theme: Today is the last Sunday of Part I in our Gospel of John series; next week begins Lent and Part II. This morning we’ll be looking at what it means for Jesus to not only be our Good Shepherd but also our Sheepgate. May we hear from Him and be drawn closer to him as we worship. Feb. 17th: Ash Wednesday Sermon Title: The Turn Main Scripture: John 11:45-53 |
