  4. Activate the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 4:10-11)
  5. Meet with God as we Pray and Worship (Psalm 33:20-22; Psalm 92:1-2)
  6. Engage & Impact our City & World with Compassion (Isaiah 58:7; Micah 6:8; Heb. 13:1-3)
  7. Share Jesus through Authentic Relationships (1 Thessalonians 2:8)

  1. We emphasize the central action of God’s grace, which is the undeserved, unmerited and loving action of God in human existence. We have experienced grace in three ways Prevenient Grace– God’s love that surrounds all of humanity and precedes any and all our conscious impulses, encouraging us and leading us to repentance and faith. Justifying Grace-God’s love that leads us to forgiveness of our sin and restores us in right relationship to Him. This “conversion” makes us new creatures in Christ, and begins us on a life growing in trust and faithfulness. Sanctifying Grace-God’s love that enables us to increase in the knowledge and love of God and in love for our neighbor
  2. .Although United Methodists share with many other Christians a belief in basic Christi and doctrines, we have historically combined them in ways to give emphases for living the full Christian life. Sanctification and Perfection-We hold that the wonder of God’s acceptance and pardon does not end God’s saving work. Rather we are nurtured and enabled to grow in grace toward the gift of Christian perfection, which is defined as “being filled with the love of God and neighbor”, and “having the mind of Christ and walking as he walked.” Faith and Good Works-We believe vital faith always produces responses and discipline that honors God. Good works cannot be truly transformative apart from the foundation of faith. Mission and Service-Personal salvation always involves reaching out to serve.Scriptural holiness entails more than personal piety; love of God is always linked with love of neighbor, a passion for justice, and renewal in the life of the world. Nurture and Mission of the Church-The personal experience of faith leads to participation in the body of Christ, the Church. Through worship, fellowship, study and service,we grow into His likeness and join together to transform the world through His love.
