BAPTISMS

Picture
Due to COVID-19, baptisms are video-taped following a Sunday Service
and are incorporated into the next Sunday's live-streamed service.

Attendance to the baptism is limited.
The Sacrament of Baptism expresses God’s love and grace, which is free to all. In the baptism service, St. James vows to embrace your children and be with them in their faith walk. Parents are required to attend a one-hour meeting with a pastor prior to their child’s baptism. Once a baptism date has been confirmed, a pastor will contact you to schedule a meeting.

Topics discussed in the class are:
  • Methodist perspective on baptism
  • Practical tips and ideas for how to raise your child in the Christian faith
  • Detailed overview of the Baptismal service
  • Logistics about the day of your child’s Baptism

To schedule your child’s baptism please contact Teresa Bodie at 501-217-6711 or teresa@stjameslr.org.  It is best to plan as far in advance as possible. To inquire about baptism for an adult, please contact any of our clergy.
